My personal trainer is Jonathan Ward and I have been training since February 12th 2013. My goals were to feel better about and be proud of my body, to get stronger and tone my muscles, and to get my nutrition back on track. So far, I already have began to accomplish all of these goals- I feel much better about my body and more comfortable, I am stronger and more toned, an I have cut out the majority of sugar and improved my nutrition tremendously compare to when I first started! I have never been able to do a normal push-up before, and now I can do over 20 AND I can do spiderman pus-ups! My biggest accomplishment is that I have quit smoking cigarettes over a month ago since I began training, after years of smoking and trying to stop. I didn't even set this as a goal because I didn't think it was possible. But once I started training with Jonathan, I started to feel better and better about my body and I wanted to take care of it and feel good and he always asked about my progress in this area. This motivated me to stop smoking and to continue to work harder to see even more results. What I like about training is the push and drive you get from your trainer to work harder, stay motivated, and achieve the results that you want. It's about accountability. I would never have been able to push myself and work as hard without the motivation from my trainer, and there have definitely been many times I wanted to give up but he did not let me. |

I not only learn new exercises and correct technique, but I learn that I can always do more than I think I can if I just have the drive and belief in myself. Training has helped in many ways more than just physically; it helps mentally and emotionally as well. It continues to give me the willingness and motivation I need to reach my goals, set new and higher goals, and most of all - to feel good about myself.

My name is Ruth Flentje. I am 74. I have been training with Joel since the spring of 2011. I had previously had another trainer, but after some THRC promotional sessions with Joel I decided I preferred him. I started out with one session a week and now have two sessions a week.
I have spinal scoliosis, so my main goal was to strengthen my core muscles. I also wanted to get stronger so that I can stay independent. I feel that Joel has helped me reach and maintain these goals. Since working out with Joel my bone density has improved. I have also been able to go from an 8# bowling ball to a 9# one. Joel is very conscientious. He always has a plan for the session and sticks with it. He pushes me to do my best, but is always concerned that I am not doing anything to hurt my back. Even though he is serious about the workout he is able to make the sessions enjoyable. He has given me advice about healthy eating. His concern is that I don't lose any weight. Joel is very personable and seems to be well-like by many people at the gym.

Since I have joined THRC I have changed my way of living for the better. I am now working out 5 or 6 times a week. When I first joined the gym I had a goal in mind hoping to reach it and I have. I have lost 20lbs which I know I will lose even more when I work out with Sara my personal trainer. I have also stopped drinking sodas and caffeine but know the real reason I have lost weight is due to watching what I am eating. Cutting out all the extra calories has helped me get to where I am now and in the future. I know that I am doing great with my working out when I do my fitness evaluations and measurements. Every time I have an evaluation I continue to improve. Also, I continue to lose inches!!

Pushing weight and doing cardio is not my idea of fun, but working out with Joel is undeniably satisfying. My goal in working with a personal trainer was not to lose weight or trim inches, but to increase my strength and confidence without injury. I've worked with trainers (and even yoga teachers!) who have given lip service to my concerns about previous injuries, but who nonetheless have designed programs that proved unsafe for me.
From the beginning Joel has kept my objectives in mind and shown himself to be willing and creative in modifying and substituting exercises as necessary for my comfort and well-being. But don't get the wrong idea - he is part drill sergeant and part cheerleader, but mostly drill sergeant. Again and again he pushes me to a level of performance that surprises me; after a year and a half of working with Joel I'm taking great pride in my increased strength and, most importantly, I remain injury-free.
I doubt that I will ever list working out at the gym among my favorite pastimes, but training with Joel has made fitness a high priority in my life.

My name is Lacy Eason and I am a current client of Rylan Kennedy. Before I started training with Rylan I had many areas needing improvement! I hated running because I ran very slow. And I had been eating fast food on a regular basis. I was trying to work out with just exercise videos because I was very bored with my own workouts that never seemed to vary. To sum it up I wasn't really making any progress and was pretty disappointed with myself for my lack of motivation to stay fit. Needless to say, starting training with Rylan could not have come at a better time.
Rylan has taught me how to eat right and balance my nutrition. Motivation is never a problem because he cheers me on constantly even when I'm having a bad day. He is always excited and in a good mood no matter what time of day it is, and my workouts wouldn't be the same without his enthusiasm! Rylan has even got me running on my own which isn't something I think I'd ever enjoy! He really has helped me run faster and work harder. In the few months I have spent with Rylan, I can definitely notice my muscles are more toned and getting stronger. His workouts always having me working my hardest and I definitely could not do it without him. He puts together the best workouts that focus on what I want to improve and keeps them intense. He is always switching things up and keeps me moving, there is never a dull session with him and I always leave feeling like I worked my hardest! All in all Rylan has helped me get healthier and more active and I am very thankful I was lucky enough to get paired up with him as my trainer.

Before training with Josh I was a cardio and group fitness queen. I would hop from the treadmill to the elliptical and up to a class in hopes that my arms would become defined and my legs would be strong. I burned calories, but was not seeing the results that I wanted. I was not striving to lose weight, but to become what I call "a badass." I wanted to be able to demolish any workout or obstacle that was thrown at me. I wanted to excel in any athletic event that I could possibly get into. After much thought, I finally took the plunge and signed up for training with Josh. I knew that I wouldn't be able to reach my goal alone. Only four months have passed and I cannot express the transformation that I have felt since starting. For the first time in my life I feel absolutely strong. Not just physically, but mentally. My clothes fit better and I feel more confident in them. I am proud of my lean arms and am not self-conscious about wearing a swimsuit anymore! I love thinking about the fact that I can now squat a person larger than myself; it's empowering. Teaching cycling classes have become easier so that I can focus more on the members taking my class. Training with Josh has completely shattered all of the limitations that I have put on myself. He is a great motivator and is always willing to offer help and advice, even when I text him at eight in the morning telling him how badly I want to eat a cinnamon roll! Even when I do have the occasional slip up, Josh is reassuring and helps me get back on track. His eagerness to help at anytime shows that he is not only an awesome trainer, but also a great friend.

Working with a trainer has given me so much. I feel stronger, more energized, and confident. Every workout is different and challenging. My trainer is always motivating and she helps keep me accountable with my workouts and diet. I enjoy the push training gives me to try new things, like spin class and running in races. I'm extremely happy with the results of training and the positive changes with my body. Most importantly, I've gained knowledge about living a healthy life style and how to maintain it long term.

10 months ago my life transformed for the better. I made the decision, with a push from my roommates, to attend Texas Tuff Bootcamp at THRC in January. Before I made the decision to work out my life consisted of no fitness and countless fast food meals. I attended the evening session where I meet Rocky who lead bootcamp. After 2 months of bootcamp I decided to train with Rocky who encouraged me with her passion for fitness and healthy living. My first set of measurements were taken in April where I started out at 23% body fat and about 135lbs. Over the next few months I continued with bootcamp while doing personal training 2-3 days a week. All my work didn't come in the gym though. That was only half the battle. I had to make the choice to eat healthy and change my lifestyle at home as well. Armed with a customized diet just for me, I've made the changes to my diet to help me live a healthy life. With the help of rocky, who pushed me every step of the way, I have made a huge change in my life that family and friends notice. It's not only in appearance but also my self confidence. I'm proud to say I've reached 16% body fat and 125lb of solid muscle. Fitness has become a huge part of my life that I feel passionate about. My adventure in fitness will never be over because I'll always be striving to reach new goals I set for myself.

Personal training changed my life! Before I started training in mid-July, I was gaining weight exponentially and was at risk for medicated cholesterol management. After several failed attempts to improve my health on my own, I finally decided to try personal training with Josh. Josh is a very skilled trainer. Josh's exercise regimen for strength development and calorie burning are intense, but always just enough to push me past my limits for maximum results. I am noticeably stronger now and able to do exercises and lift weights I never thought possible. His diet recommendation catapulted weight loss and continues to propel our progress forward. The diet was not difficult to adhere to at all and I'm still able to enjoy lots of good food. I started seeing results immediately after training began. Josh also does a great job in educating me on my health, teaching me to make more informed decisions when it comes to my health and fitness. There has never been a question asked by me that he did not have an answer to.
This training experience started a whole new lifestyle for me. I make better meal choices no matter where I am and I enjoy exercise and do it more often. My cholesterol has returned to normal and my weight is consistently declining. I dropped 4 dress sizes so far and I can keep up with all of my four children! I look good and I feel great!! There is no turning back for me! Whether you need to get fit or stay fit, I highly recommend personal training with Josh.

My name is Aaron Sivils I work as a firefighter and have been a member of THRC for about a year. Most of my life has been a consant struggle to keep in shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle. My before picture was taken on New Years Eve of 2011 and my after picture was taken on October 21, 2012. As you can tell there is a big difference between the two pictures. I used to weigh 235 lbs, that was about the heaviest I have weighed in my life although since high school I have been over 200 lbs. I began my change in April of 2012 dieting and working out on my own at THRC I saw a few gains. I lost about 10 pounds on my own but I still wasnt happy with my progress and with work I did not have the full amount of time to devote to my fitness. In the end of August I decided I needed to take my fitness to the next level and began a training program at THRC I began training wih Rylan at a weight of 220 lbs. It is now the end of October and I weigh 195 lbs and look and feel better than I have in almost 6 years. Without the guidance and motivation provided to me by the staff at THRC I would not be 40 lbs lighter. I recommend to everyone to make a change and give the experienced staff at THRC an chance to make a positive change in their life.

XFit & Texas Tuff Bootcamp
I became a member at THRC over a year ago and signed up as soon as I took the tour. I liked the one-year agreement which helped guarantee that I commit to working out. I love the group fitness classes, the dry sauna, and all the different rooms with the diverse equipment. Since joining I have become an XFit and Texas Tuff Bootcamp junky and I am now working at the gym full-time.

I have been working out for a long time and it would be easy for me to get lulled into the same routine day after day, but cross fit raises the bar. With Jimmy every workout is a new challenge. I keep getting results that I didn''t even know were possible. Jimmy keeps it fun and motivating so I continue to demand more of myself. Just when I think I want to give up, Jimmy says, " You can do it and you will do it!".

I love this place! When I was looking for a gym in this area I wasn't sure what to look for since I have never been a member of a fitness center before. They gave me 2 free personal training sessions and they helped me out so much! I read over the contract before I signed and never felt pressured at any time. The contract was easy to read and very professional. I don't understand why anyone would have such a big problem with having to cancel and why would they want to cancel and way? This just makes me believe it's more secure. The group fitness classes are my favorite and are amazing cardio workouts. Every time I go in I meet someone new and they are always so nice! I highly recommend this place if you want to be happy.

My kind of gym! If your new to area and looking for a gym to get the job done I recommend THRC. I just moved into town and started a new job managing at the outlets and took the tours of the local gyms here and signed up at THRC because they had everything I needed! Right when I walked in was greeted by the desk staff and told them I wanted to take a look around, the membership person took me for a tour throughout the whole facility and explained everything they had to offer. It doesn't look like much from the outside but I was impressed after the tour; I mean you name it they had it: big weight room, cable machines, circuit training area, plenty of cardio equipment (treadmills, stairmaster, ellipticals), racquetball courts, basketball court, cycling room, aerobic classes, sauna, and personal training! At the end of the tour they showed me prices and they had a corporate discount so i couldn't turn it down. I have been a member for 3 months and so far I've lost 18 lbs thanks to the variety of things to do and feel ill reach my weight loss goal of 30 lbs by end of January!

Great customer service. I love going to workout at THRC, the staff is always extremely friendly and I am greeted by name every time I walk through the door. All of the group fitness classes make working out fun and the keep me motivated to come back. As for the facilities, everything is always clean and organized. I don't have to spend my time looking for weights or waiting on a machine to open up. If you are looking for a club where you will always feel welcome THRC is the place to go.

I use every part of the gym, basketball, racquet ball, cardio equipment, and free weights. My wife loves the group fitness and the child care. Always getting new equipment and that's awesome.
