TIER SHEET
Tier 1
Every trainer at THRC is a certified personal trainer. Trainers in this tier are fine tuning their abilities through continuing education seminars, training with other trainers, and pursuing a college degree. These trainers are proficient in writing appropriate exercise recommendations, leading and demonstrating safe and effective methods of exercise, and motivating individuals to begin and to continue with their healthy behaviors.
Tier 2
Trainers in this tier must have either a bachelor degree in ESS or must be certified through one of the following nationally accredited certifications:
NASM, ACE, NSCA, CSCCA, or
American College of Sports Medicine
ACSM member diversity and expertise makes ACSM the largest, most respected sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world. From astronauts and athletes to people with chronic diseases or physical challenges, ACSM continues to look for and find better methods to allow individuals to live longer and more productive lives.
Cooper
Since 1970, The Cooper Institute has been changing lives for the better every day. Our mission is helping people to understand the connection between living habits and their health.
Tier 3
Trainers in this tier must have a combination of either a bachelor degree, or master degree, and be certified with at least two certifications one of which must be ACSM, Cooper, ACE, NSCA, CSCCA, or
National Academy of Sports Medicine
NASM has been a leader in personal trainer certification, continuing education, solutions and tools for health, fitness, sports performance and sports medicine professionals.
Tier 4
Trainers in this tier must have a combination of either a bachelor degree, or master degree, six months of intense training at the club, as well as be certified with at least two certifications one of which must be: ACSM, Cooper, NSCA, CSCCA, NASM or
American Council on Exercise
ACE is one of the largest fitness certification, education and training organizations in the world. ACE certification, continuing education and training are among the most respected in the fitness industry.
Tier 5
Trainers in this tier must have a combination of either a bachelor degree, or master degree, one year of intense training at the club, as well as be certified with at least two certifications one of which must be ACSM, Cooper, ACE, NASM or
National Strength and Conditioning Association
The NSCA develops and presents the most advanced information regarding strength training and conditioning practices, injury prevention, and research findings.
Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
The CSCC certification is the most comprehensive certification of its kind and tests the candidates' scientific knowledge, as well as their ability to apply this knowledge in a live working, practical environment. Those candidates preparing to take this certification examination must undergo an 8-9 month internship under the supervision of a CSCC approved mentor.
